"Practice makes perfect"

Home Page

Hi, welcome to our home page, it is still early days for this site, so if anyone has any ideas as to what type of content you would like to see, feel free to send me an email with your ideas, and i will see what i can do,

My Daughter has been playing football / soccer, since she was old enough to kick a ball, this was a by product of her having 2 older brothers that play, she has been around football pitches from when she was a baby, im sure there are a few girls or parents reading this, that know what i mean,

She is now playing for a South Coast Girls Centre of excellence,

We have seen all sides of girls football, and i must admit, most of it isn't that good, most girls that want to make it to a good level, have to play in a boys team, and then they have to put up with the inequality of how they are managed,

For example, my daughter was put in defence from the start, and was never given a go in any other position, she was always first to be subbed, even if she was one of the better players in the team,

i must admit, i do sound like a right misery, but when you can see your daughter is one of the better players in the team, but isn't given a fair go, it starts to get a bit annoying.

I have been coaching childrens football for 9 years now, i Coach / Manage a girls under 13 team at the moment, i also run a girls only skills training centre for a south coast football in the community scheme,

and no it isnt the same one that my daughter plays for, she had to go for trials at a club i had no links with, if she was in the same one as i coach for, you would have got the usual comments form parents, like "she's only playing because her dad coaches here" its good for her to know that she's in on merit, and not because of her dad.

I'm sure that more girls would play football if they had the chance to train in an all girl enviroment, most of the girls i have met through my coaching experience, have all said the same thing, but there are very few girls only Coaching sessions around,

Plus girls need to start at the same age as boys, from 5 or 6, most of the girls leagues in this part of the country don't start until the under 10's age group, they should be starting at under 6's.

these are just my views, i'm sure some people agree, and disagree, so here is where you can have your say, use the message board to put your feelings in print, if you come up with any good ideas, i will compile them into a survey, and see what responce we get,

Here is a survey that i would like as many girls as possible to take part in, once we have the results we will compile them and send them to the FA,

Please enter as much detail as you can, thanks

I will be putting more surveys on here as the weeks go by, if you have any questions that you think would be of interest to girls footy, please place them on the message board, once i have enough i will create a survey, and put it online.
